“Handle” Your Anxiety

Stalking triggers anxiety. There are so many suggestions for dealing with the anxiety due to stalking. Some suggest meditation, while other focus completely on exercise, and as we’ve discovered in this blog, art therapy also works well.

Yet, there are times when none of these work. Then, it is time to ‘handle’ your anxiety by working with clay. Not the flour and water clay you made in elementary school, but polymer clay. There’s just enough resistance within polymer clay that you can work out your anxiety as you knead it, roll it, cut it, push it through the press, and finally cut it into all kinds of shapes. All of this handling helps to reduce your anxiety while you get into the creative zone producing beautiful clay objects. It really does work and before you know it you’re visiting Etsy for ideas before you open your own storefront.

Let’s start by showing you what can be done with inexpensive polymer clay. I spent a little time shopping Etsy for some ideas. Here’s some different types of polymer earrings…

You can create earrings with detailed work either by carving or cutting out a pattern. This type of detail work will really get you in the zone and reduce your anxiety.

If you enjoy being creative, you can mix polymer colors, patterns, add gold or silver leaf to the clay and then create one-of-a-kind earrings. Or you can create earrings to represent your dreams for living a full life.

How do you get started? Easy, just visit YouTube and start watching any video tutorial for polymer clay. Here’s one that gives you every step for creating earrings using polymer clay and even provides instruction for the jewelry mounting for the earrings.

Polymer clay can be used for creating all types of jewelry, statues, bowls, Christmas decorations, or even keychain charms. Your imagination is your only limitation when it comes to polymer clay. I’ve seem some incredible polymer clay stones that match the real stone so perfectly it was hard to tell the real stone from the fake polymer stone. Have fun! Handle your anxiety with a simple $2.00-3.00 purchase of polymer clay.
